Raise a Hallelujah
The testimony
The song “Raise a Hallelujah” has a deep background truth about the Power of Prayer of believers. For about a month, believers from all over the world prayed together for Jaxon’s healing from a sudden illness that attacked him.
During these testing times, the church came together in all earnest and prayed, and the Lord gave the song “Raise a Hallelujah” to singer Jonathan Helser. The church started to sing the song spontaneously… and suddenly the miracle started to happen.
Jonathan then immediately recorded the song on his cell phone and send it to Jaxon’s dad, Joe Taylor. Joe took the phone and placed it against Jaxon’s ear (who was now in a coma) and played the song. And what happened then was supernatural. Even though the doctors had already given up on Jackson after his long sick bed, the Lord stepped in where men had no more solutions.
Watch the riveting video below to see the miracle that followed and be inspired to become part of growing worldwide prayer and praise movements.
This makes us think how the church, in unity, prayed for Peter to be released from jail and how he was supernaturally helped by an angel and walked out of the prison.
“Acts 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
….
Acts 12:7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. Acts 12:8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
Acts 12:9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.
Acts 12:10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.
Acts 12:11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.”
The song: "Raise a Hallelujah"
“Raise a Hallelujah” is the song that makes miracles happen in your life. The song sung by husband and wife team Jonathan and Melissa Helser started as an inspired song to save the life of little Jaxon Taylor (who is the 2-year old son of Joel Taylor, the CEO of Bethel Music).
Diagnosed with a severe E. Coli infection, little Jaxon was fighting for his life, with doctors having given up hope on his recovery. The song is a mighty spiritual war anthem that encourages listeners to face the giants in their lives. The song, mixed with thousands of prayers, brought little Jaxon back from the brink of death and after weeks in hospital he went home, alive and well!
Janie Taylor, Jaxon’s mom, had this to say “…I pray that this song will, in turn, give you hope and issue in the victory you are contending for in this season. I pray Jaxon’s testimony is a gift back to you – to believe anything is possible no matter what mountains you face.”
Jaxon’s dad had this to say: “He [Jonathan Helser] sent me a song,” Joel says. “Their community had prayed for Jaxon and in a spontaneous moment they came up with a song. And so they just, you know, recorded it and so they sent it to me. I took that song over my phone and I played it over my son, over and over again. ‘I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies. I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody.’ And, that’s exactly what I was doing. I was fighting warfare and it wasn’t just me. I wasn’t alone … it still humbles me and baffles me the power of global prayer, the power of community, the power of believing together.”

Lyrics: Raise a Hallelujah
Bethel Music, Jonathan David Helser, …
I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies
I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbeliefI raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody
I raise a hallelujah, heaven comes to fight for me
I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive!
I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me
I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee
I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery
I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me!
I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive!
Sing a little louder (In the presence of my enemies)
Sing a little louder (Louder than the unbelief)
Sing a little louder (My weapon is a melody)
Sing a little louder (Heaven comes to fight for me)
Sing a little louder (In the presence of my enemies)
Sing a little louder (Louder than the unbelief)
Sing a little louder (My weapon is a melody)
Sing a little louder (Heaven comes to fight for me)
Sing a little louder!
I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive!
